This site helped me a lot when I needed to lose 30 lbs. Now my cats need to lose 2 lbs... I'm going to try to track them with custom logs, but they may end up joining traineo on their own!

Happy news: some of the GO5 proposals that I submitted by the horrible deadline were actually accepted! I just finished the final revisions of the observing programs. Let's hope the LHe on Spitzer lasts much longer than anyone expects.
I will still have to find ways to pay my salary, but the clock won't be ticking the way it was with SIRTF. It was really hard to work on a project where you knew if you screwed up, you couldn't come back and try again, because the entire thing would die in 5 years. Now I can just concentrate on doing good science.
I stopped exercising for most of the time before the GO5 deadline, and am just now recovered enough to start again. Feels good to be moving again. I hope moving will help with the intense amount of physical tension my body was in during GO5 (and still is).
Of course I gained "GO5 weight" :) I was living on junk food! But it was just 2 lbs. I guess stress burns calories. I wonder if I can log insomnia, depression, losing my temper, and anxiety?

Oh well, what's the worst that can happen? I'll feel frustrated and humiliated, I will have wasted a month of work on spacecraft pointing commands that won't be executed, I won't get paid for 2-6 months, and I will lose a year of retirement credit in our pension system. That isn't the end of the world!

I survived my deadline and my bum is defrosting!
How's your work? Do you think you'll make it in time? Do you dream of clocks ticking away?
Keep dancing with those dishes!

All our warm sunny days have fled, leaving me faced with (1) walk outside where it is freezing cold, (2) join a gym, (3) figure out how to exercise inside.
The good news: David agreed to buying a treadmill for our house! Yay! I will go treadmill shopping after Feb. 14 aka The GO4 Deadline.
Good thing because airline travel to my sister's has flared up my FM :) I need to keep moving despite the pain. So my doctor says. And I did feel better yesterday after taking a walk.
I guess I need to be more faithful about exercise, increase the length of my walks, and pay more attention to the calories. Sigh.
I should keep the big picture in mind: when I decided to do this, I was 178 lbs, so overall I am down 8 lbs and am that much farther from diabetes/stroke/heart disease. And that is the point of this, along with decreasing the FM pain.

It's 30 seconds to the fridge, 30 seconds back :)
I log 1 minute of walking on days of no exercise, so that instead of there being no log, there's a log of my doing nothing. The downwards zags into 3 calories burned make it very clear on my training graph how faithful I have been with exercise!
Good luck with the walking! You've been busy the last week. I love your entry of a 1 minute walk. Where did you go? And did you come back?
Keep up the good work/walk!

I am skating on the edge of the last of the good fall weather, and have not yet faced up to needing to get a gym membership for winter. I have delusions that I can make myself walk outside for 30 mins in winter. Yeah right.
Last week I only walked one day (today). Depressed slothful slug eating candy every night, not to mention sweets at two going-away parties. I'm religious about veggies, fruit, whole grains, non-fat milk/yogurt as always, but no yay Kris this week.
I could use a call on the weekend telling me to hang up the phone, take a walk, then call back to report in half an hour :)
Walked 4 days last week (Tu W Th Su), also got out of breath lugging laundry around (Sa, Su), 2 days bad FM (M, F) so 5/7 days of exercise was as much as I could handle. Yay Kris!
Fell badly off pizza wagon Sa, otherwise diet pretty good.
